October 11, 2013

Date:  October 30th, 2013
Time:  5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Place: Sioux Falls Convention Center

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), City of Sioux Falls, and Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will hold a public information meeting / open house to receive public input on the I-229 Major Investment Corridor Study. The open house will be informal allowing for one on one discussion with the study team. The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the study limits and goals to the public. The study advisory team assembled for this project will be working with a team of engineering consultants to analyze existing and future traffic conditions along the entire I-229 corridor including interchanges and crossroads. During this project specific interchange studies will be completed at Minnesota Avenue (Exit 3), 10th Street (Exit 6), and Benson Road (Exit 9) to determine if improvements will be required within the next 20 years.

A brief presentation will take place at 5:35 p.m. SDDOT, City of Sioux Falls, MPO, and consultant staff will be available with displays after the presentation to discuss the study and answer your questions. During this time, you will also have the opportunity to present written comments.

A website, http://i229study.com/, has been established for the project which contains information about the corridor study. Please visit the website to learn about the study. The website does allow for online comments to be submitted and the study team would appreciate hearing from the area commuters, concerned citizens, and adjacent landowners and business owners throughout this project.
