2018-2021 TIP

The Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) are in the process of drafting the 2018-2021 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). The TIP and STIP include prioritized listings of multimodal transportation improvement projects for streets and highways, public transportation, aviation, railroads, bicycles, and pedestrian.  

The draft 2018-2021 TIP, which includes transportation improvement projects for the MPO area (Brandon, Crooks, Harrisburg, Hartford, Sioux Falls, Tea, and portions of Lincoln and Minnehaha Counties), will be presented to the MPO committees at the July 12th and 13th meetings, including a public hearing scheduled for Thursday, July 13th, at 2:00 p.m. in the SECOG Board Room. Additional opportunities to participate in the TIP and STIP updates are listed below. 

  • July 12, 2017, 7:00 pm, Mitchell Ramada Inn: Public meeting for the 2018-2021 STIP hosted by SDDOT
  • July 13, 2017, 2:00 pm, SECOG Board Room: Public hearing for the first draft of the 2018-2021 TIP
  • July 13-27, 2017: Comment period for the first draft of the 2018-2021 TIP
  • July 20, 2017, 2:30 pm: Public meeting via webinar for the 2018-2021 STIP hosted by SDDOT, with an in-person meeting option at SDDOT Sioux Falls Area Office, 5316 W 60th St N
  • By August 3, 2017: Final draft of the 2018-2021 TIP posted
  • August 10, 2017, 2:00 pm, SECOG Board Room: Public hearing for the final draft of the 2018-2021 TIP
