The Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the South Dakota Department of Transportation (DOT) are in the process of drafting the 2017-2020 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and Statewide Transportation Improvements Program (STIP). The TIP and STIP include prioritized listings of multimodal transportation improvement projects for streets and highways, public transportation, aviation, railroads, bicycles, and pedestrian.
Communities in the SECOG region (Clay, Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, Turner, & Union Counties) are encouraged to attend the meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 6th, at 3:00 p.m. in the SECOG Board Room. At this meeting, DOT staff will present the transportation improvements projects included in the draft 2017-2020 STIP for the SECOG region. There will also be time for discussion and questions.
The draft 2017-2020 TIP, which includes transportation improvements projects for the MPO area (Brandon, Crooks, Harrisburg, Hartford, Sioux Falls, Tea, and portions of Lincoln and Minnehaha Counties), will be presented to the MPO committees at the July 13th and 14th meetings, including a public hearing scheduled for Thursday, July 14th, at 2:00 p.m. in the SECOG Board Room.
DOT will also be holding public meetings across the State and via webinar to present the draft 2017-2020 STIP. The public meeting in Sioux Falls will be at the Ramkota Hotel on Wednesday, July 13th at 7:00 p.m.
