The Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the South Dakota Department of Transportation (DOT) are in the process of drafting the 2015-2018 Transportation Improvements Program (TIP) and Statewide Transportation Improvements Program (STIP). The TIP and STIP include prioritized listings of transportation improvements projects for streets and highways, public transportation, aviation, railroads, bicycles, and pedestrian.
Communities in the SECOG region (Clay, Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, Turner, & Union Counties) are encouraged to attend the meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 8th, at 3:00 p.m. in the SECOG Board Room. At this meeting, DOT staff will present the transportation improvements projects included in the draft 2015-2018 STIP for the SECOG region. There will also be time for discussion and questions.
The draft 2015-2018 TIP, which includes transportation improvements projects for the MPO area (Brandon, Crooks, Harrisburg, Hartford, Sioux Falls, Tea, and portions of Lincoln and Minnehaha Counties), will be presented to the MPO committees at the July 16th and 17th meetings, including a public hearing scheduled for Thursday, July 17th, at 2:00 p.m. in the SECOG Board Room.
DOT will also be holding public meetings across the State and via webinar to present the draft 2015-2018 STIP. The public meeting in Sioux Falls will be at the Ramkota Hotel on Wednesday, July 23rd at 7:00 p.m. The webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, July 30th at 1:30 p.m. Contact STIP Coordinator Dave Voeltz at dave.voeltz@state.sd.us to register for the webinar.
